electromagnetic

I think everything mechanical I touch breaks.  I admitted this to a friend the other day and she thought maybe I had an electromagnetic field around me that threw my universe out of whack.  And I am just going to believe that and not think I purposely try to destroy all things I hold dear and use to the utmost (I didn't know utmost was with a "t") purpose it was intended.

Cases in point.  *A year ago in October, by camera broke at a wedding photo shoot.  Right before even!  My ex-BIL brother-in-law saved the day (something I will never forget and will always be grateful for) and I had a second shooter, so all's well that ends well.  I also learned to ALWAYS carry a back up camera.

*A few days after, the memory card from ANOTHER wedding malfunctioned and cost me $500 to retrieve.

Thankfully no camera equipment has failed me this season, although, one of my lenses fell off my camera as I was using it to focus!  It landed sunny side down, on the hood (thank you dear Lord for that save) so no harm no foul.

*Not one but two car accidents within a year of each other.  Now I am not allowed to drive for my child's school.  A truly mixed blessing and I get a lot of strange looks for the knowing staff.

*More recently, I have noticed that I needed new tires.  My current ones are as bald as (fill in the first thing that comes to mind, for me, it's my BIL Ben,

super bald and shiny).  I told the man about it, he said, let's wait until they lose a little more tread.  "Are you insane?"   This made me furious, "Really, you just want to wait until I wreck the car?"  He gave me the look of  "no, duh"  but kind of "yeah."  Wish granted, during the last month I have slammed the right front tire in to the curb THREE times.  I lost a hub the first time, dinged it in a different place the second, and removed paint off a curb the third time.  My wheel looks like something off of Mater from Cars.  I recently had it and my door repaired, also not working.  And really, I wasn't out of control speeding, I just couldn't grip the road with bald tires.

*I busted my kitchen aid!  Poor professional grade piece of hud couldn't take grinding wheat berries longer than 10 minutes.  The mixer assembly busted off and spewed oil, like I had mortally wounded it and had asked too much!

*My lap top, it's turned into a fine piece (again fill in whatever comes to your mind, I won't say what is coming to mine), it overheats if you cross your eyes at it.  So now I rest it on a cooling rack for cookies and it works great and all, BUT, it seems pretty ghetto.  I am sure my last client thought it was a little ghetto.

So there, my cameras, my mixer, my computer, and my car.  Is it that I am too rough on stuff, I don't know how to take care of it and not wear it out (as Brigham Young has told us to do BTW) or am I just that girl, the one with the electromagnetic ring around my body?
